Enjoyed a wonderful Greek breakfast this morning with a couple of good friends. It turns out they are from Corinth, Greece. Yes, the Corinth of the bible, i.e. Paul’s letters to the Corinthians.
They are currently renovating a home in a small coastal village, a 250-year old structure with an amazing history. It’s location on the coast was so idyllic for viewing the countryside and coast, the Germans even took it over in World War II as a command post. A bullet hole from the war is still proudly preserved on its two foot thick walls!
As we wound down our talk, my friend brought out a $50 Euro note, and said, “this is for when you come to stay at our home in Greece. We’ll go to church at my home church in Corinth, the actual church founded by Saint Paul, then we’ll go for coffee and use this $50 euro. Keep it till then!”
How cool is that! Coffee in Corinth, Greece, a 250-year old home on the Greek coast, celebrating liturgy in a church founded by Saint Paul in the biblical city of Corinth.
One day, the whole family will make that trip, I can smell the Mediterranean Sea air already!
When life is crumbled, and a new door is opened, the unknown can seem so scary. But what I’ve found the last 9 years traveling to help others is that there are little miracles like this one, scattered everywhere. You just have to listen, follow, then enjoy the ride and never take for granted the incredible life we all have the opportunity to live.
Hope lives free!!!
